Smile Dash Lights and aillights problem (possible Fix)

Hey guys, i recently installed my Alpine HU in my 03 lx coupe, and i guess i didn't wire it correctly or whatever....so my dash lights, and park + tail lighst wouldn't light up....so yeah, i searched and searched on the forums and saw that many people had to buy a new cluster....so yah, i was just out and i decided to take out the two dimmer light cables and replace one of the fuses under the hood with a 30a fuse instead of the regular 15a.....and EVERYTHING WORKS NOW .....Parking lights, Tail lights, and Dash lights.....so yeah, i though i'd let you guys know that this could be a possible fix instead of buying an entire cluster....

you probably got your dimmer and illumination wires crossed or grounded out which would cause that, we had that happen on a eclipse, trust me on this i worked for circuit city in the roadshop for a few years and got smart and left

The thing is that if i put the 15 back in it won't wrk...and also, i read a bunch of post's where it says that the dimmer and illumination wires shouldn't even be connected.

if you put a 30amp in a 15amp stocket.....bad, very bad. you might melt some wires or burn out some expensive electronic stuff in your car. put the 15amp back in and find out why its not working. just running more juice is not a good idea. I'd try putting a brand new 15 back in though. the one you took out might be bad but looks good. Just a place to start......
