OEM Exhaust Tip question

Hi. I have an OEM exhaust tip and i was wondering how to install this. There's a bolt that goes on from the bottom, do i need to drill a hole into my exhaust tip so the bolt can go through? I'm not sure because I looked at the installation guide, and it mentions nothing about drilling a hole.
Also a friend told me that drilling a hole in the exhaust tip will be bad because the head will make the metal weak, and ultimately enlarging the hole. Is this true?

Here's a picture of what the tip to get a better idea of what i'm talking about.

Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Do not drill a hole. It clamps and holds the tip in place. Just tighten it such that the tip won't come off.

Yes. If you drill a hole, you will cause a point for corrosion to occur on your exhaust pipe. The pipe is aluminized steel. If you drill it, you penetrate the aluminum and accelerate corrosion.

a hole will lead to a possible leak, which will lead to loss of compression and a blown piston

How on earth will a hole at the end of a tail pipe lead to a blown piston or anything else for that matter?

yea, and adding a axle back will cause the welds on the intake to go and you will have to replace the piston rings you fried

I hear that dumping break lathe shavings in your oil will prolong engine life and keep the ring seal good for hundreds of thousands of miles, guess its like extra lube for all moving parts or something! Thus no broken piston, this is only for juzthewy. He has that special car, ya know!

A hole after the muffler shouldn't affect anything... I mean... your exhaust vapors come out a hole after the muffler don't they?

Okay, put the tip on, put on the screw and tighten, done. No drilling.
