i was thing about just porting the intake manafold. my buddy said its only 155. to do. know if i just do this for now, how will motor run? will there be more power or just get better gas milage?o'yea what is the polish part? is that where u bore it and replace the pistons or something

finally a real mod [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] theoretically you should get more power since ur freeing up that manifold. i dunno if you'll instantly see the results. maybe if u had a dyno that would help. keep us posted if u get it done

The typical home port and polish job consists of Gasket matching this is when you make the openings of the intake and head match the size of the gasket hole...other than that you may want to clean up any casting marks and radius the short side of the intake runners...when polishing dont use any finer than a 80grit sand paper or the ports will become too smooth and the air will become too turbulant in the intake and head....other than that when doing the Exhaust ports on the head only raise the port roofs or you will loose power in this area, but gasket matching is still fine here.....getting the head ported properly with a rebuild and larger valves, and bowl work will probably run you around $1500, and having the intake extrude Honed will probably run around $500...and net you around 15hp...but this is the way to go if you plan to add forced induction.....Remember more air in and more air out = more HP....but you cant have any bottlenecks anywhere....but if you are mechanicly inclined the home port job is good for about 2-5HP

you cant port either our intake or exhaust manifolds.
our intake manifolds are plastic and our exhaust manifolds are tubular steel. you only port things that are thick cast metal.sorry![IMG]i/expressions/moon.gif[/IMG]
