Question

Oil pressure gauge reading

I want to know what is the normal oil pressure reading. They say if its too low or too high, theres something wrong. Thanks.

I don't know, but It can vary a bit depending on your oil weight, if you have a high performance oil pump and such. As I recall the oil pressure in my 69 bug running a 1.9 liter engine is 60 PSI until the engine reaches normal temp of 175 degrees, then it drops to 40 on the freeway, and about 20 at idle.

average for all cars

10psi for every 1k rpm

anything under 15 psi ur pump is taking a dump 12 ur engine is going to need to be rebuilt
