how to get the air out of gas tank
everytime i get gas, the gas nozzle stops pouring in prematurely at least once every fill up. The gas attendant have to push it in again to get it going. The gas attendant told me that there is too much air in the gas tank, but don't know how to fix the problem. any suggestions? can i get a new tank?

Yeah it seems to happen at all the gas stations i go to. Also on a side note, I live in NJ so I don't have control over the nozel because the gas attendants put it in for you.

Gas tanks aren't collapsable and it doesn't work under a vacuum so yeah, there is obviously air in there filling up the void.... And yes, this can be easily remedied by pulling the nozzle out slightly while filling. This prevents the gas from splashing back and kicking off the nozzle.
ur charcole[sp?] canister is the compont that stores gasses from the fuel tank....and tell me this what is the reason when sometimes u pull off ur gass cap u hear a pressure difference...sorry bro but they do work under a vac

The charcoal canister absorbs gas vapour due to heat expansion of gas. Gas vapour expands. The hiss is the gas vapour comming out not in. The pressure in the tank is equal to the atmospheric (air) pressure outside the moment you open the gas cap. So it is impossible for it to be under any sort of vacuum during refueling.
