be sure to use an insulated flathead, otherwise you will get nasty imprints around it.

Dont really have to use a flathead. Just aim the vent as far down as possible (top part sticking out, bottom part inside the vent) and position your fingers in the gap at the bottom. Give a slight pull to make sure you wont rip it out, and pull as needed. Works like a champ, plus you know you wont have screwdriver marks.

Nodnero's method is easiest. There are like 4 pressure clips in there holding it in place. You'll feel them when you pull it out.

if you open yer doors and pop off the triangular piece you can use a screwdriver to push the vents out so you dont risk denting the dash.. its a lil more work.. but its better than having dents in yer dash..

if all you want to do is take out the vent part that moves.. yes you can pry those out.. use a flattip on the outside of each of them.. dont pry just push it in to release the lil peg.. then pull them out with yer fingers.. there is a lil D shaped piece on the inside that might fall out on you so its best to remove the whole unit first.. should take you like 3 minutes..

as for the center piece you will have to remove the whole thing.. theres a bunch of diys floating around..

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ight=dash+trim my thread from when i did it.. it has some answers in it.. but not all of them.. PM me if you need more help

thats what i used.. any paint from an automotive store thats listed as being for interior use is fine.. or any plastic paint.. if you cant find a color you like thats listed as being for plastic they do make primer stuff...

im not sure what yer stock dash color is.. if its the tan.. well.. ehh.. im not real sure.. maybe a nice pearl white to sorta go with the body color.. maybe black.. unless you are willing to have it turn out rice id stick with something subtle.. meaning you might want to stay away from yellows and greens

if you have the black/grey dash you can go with just about anything..

either way this is a deciding point as to what direction you want to go with yer car as far as color themes go.. you dont wanna paint yer dash red then find a bunch of blue parts you like.. you will end up looking like an american flag.. ..
