Pedal replacement

Alright guys first off I really didnt know where to put this so I just put it here. I was reading on how stuff works.com about the lotus elise and saw the pedals that are in the car and I was like yeah just like that. So I was wondering is there any kind of way that we can pedals like this.

A queue is a waiting line...

Don't you mean CLUE

Anyhoo... to get back on subject... Lotus generally has stripped down stuff for wieght reduction, and it looks like the pedals are no exception. I don't really know what the big woo hoo is about the pedals, but sure you can make it work somehow...

What I would look into is taking the pads off of the existing pedals, and sanding the paint off, to get the steel finish. Then you may need to fabricate a new steel pad of some sort... Good luck man.

I think it's a good lesson to just not be a pot head...

but anyhoo....

Yes.. if you visit your local pep boys rice shop section there are like a million aftermarket PAD replacements that you can buy and velco onto your existing pedals...

but What you want to do, will have to be fabricated. Especially if you want the stems to look like those...

Like I said b4 if you like the Steel Finish, try just sanding the paint off of the existing pedals and a steel finish pad replacement... It won't look exactly like the picture but will have the same finish.

Between Sparco, Momo, OMP, and the many others that make metal drill in pedal covers, you should be able to find something that matches that pattern pretty close. As far as an exact match, not without a lot of custom work that I doubt is worth it.

Why. You really can't see the pedals, unless it's a show car, then you could probably get a custom pedal assembly made. check some of the hot rod magazines, there are off the shelf custom ones availabe.

All right I know about the pedal covers, I did the grey's diy pedals from aluminum. Just kind of getting tired of those. I dont want some pedals exactly like those from the elise like the way they mount and all that stuff I know thats basicly impossible unless you're an engineer or something. I just want to know do they have a replacement assembly the pedal arm and everything not just a cover?

ok, well the purpose of the pedals in the lotus and the shitty pedal covers we have a serve a totally different purpose. Race cars set the pedals so they line up in a horizontal line. That makes it easier to use heal and toe, and to use other foot techniques while racing. Any passenger car wasn't built that way. The lotus pedals are designed to make it easier to race and perform complex foot movements to improve racing times. They are also billet and lightweight to save weight. You will need a lot of custom work to get your pedals like that.
