Injen SRI vs FIPK II
Injen SRI vs FIPK II
Hi I m frm Singapore, n m looking for a new intake for my VTi-S (1.7l, auto). Basically I have shortlisted the 2 intakes as above... I know that this has been discussed numerous times but they have been without a conclusive result...
Any bros who are using these can comment on their effectiveness??? I m looking at low and mid range power... Thanks alot...

i have actually used both and currently have the K&N FIPK 2.
the injen short ram makes you lose a little bit of low end and makes up for it by giving you a little more top end. its also louder then the FIPK at wide open throttle.
the FIPK doesnt make you lose any low end torque (it feels stock to me) unlike the injen. the FIPK pulles better (in my opinion again) at highway speeds, well, at least better than stock. its also quiter but "cleaner" sounding.

the injen sri is crap. dont get it.
ive owned both and the K&N built and quality is better.
its MADE for the 7thgen civic. the Injen SRI isnt.
they're the exact same ones built for the 6th gen DX/LX.. since those have vertical throttle bodies too..
hence the funky *** bending bracket that you'll need to fit the Intake onto your car.. that tends to break too.
I mean they could have spend some time having a better way to mount the intake to the car.. but instead, they use one simple twisting bracket..
the intake diameter is also way too big.. and doesnt flow too well.

IF you came up with ONLY those 2 choices, the clear choice between them is K&N. As stated, Injen SRI and AEM SRI wont do anything. Also, intakes dont really do anything for low/mid range... except lose power.
