Rwd
anything could be done if you have the cash, but 4 the about you'd put into converting the car 2 rwd you'd prob be able to get a really nice rwd car.... Although it would be halarious to see a vic w/ a s2k engine, doing a burnout from the rear!

the rwd civic with s2k motor in the trunk has crossed my mind but I have never researched. Motor might be too big to fit or way too much money???
I saw an old tibouron with a normal engine up front and a Cesna engine in the trunk/hatch area running two seperate transmissions. So I think anything could be done, but I have no Idea on the cost$$$$??
Hey they did it with the focus and cavalier as well. Those are around 10g's I think.
Research and let us know. Know harm in that.

for the most part like engine, tranny, and all that stuff would be easy to get but the fabrication is going to be a pain you would need new spots for mounts, cut and weld ****,then if you want to be a sav try and figure out weight disturbution because if you want RWD whats the point if its going to off balance you have to have the engine sit in just the right spot, i have put days of thought into swapping a s2k engine in my car, some day someone will do this and i hope its me but until i hit the lotto or become bill gates bitch ill just stick to the k20, or get an evo

and to answer, no...youre better off just getting a different car. unless you want to spend WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than the car is worth doing this mod. for what? show points? even if you succeed, the car will never handle like it was designed to, who knows if safety standards will be compromised, crash ratings etc., its just not worth it, it probably wont be street legal anyway.
if you really want a civic, youre better off just importing the AWD from thailand or whatever like someone else said. save yourself the hassle.

so its not off balance and the car handles well.

There is a D1 integra with a b18 and the trans off of a crv converted to rwd. I was thinking of going hardcore frankinstein but said it would be two expensive. either way check it K24, Rsx type R head, Crv trans, and convert the whole car to AWD. then throw a turbo on it just for sh*ts and giggles. that would be a sleeper STI killer for sure.

This is technically the easiest way to do it.
And it would probably be cheaper than custom fabricating a new floor plan for RWD.
Or you can study this model to figure out how they got the rear drivetrain in there.
The AWD model on the Civic Ferio (sedan) models are equipped with a semi-AWD system, just like the AWD Mazda 6 thats due soon.
The Civic is mainly FWD and only gets power to the rear when it's needed but the drivetrain is there...only thing you need to do is make it fulltime AWD or somehow change it to RWD.
I believe it can be done without too much money.
