on another note, it's pretty important to atleast know how an engine works before going into heavy duty modding.

I have a question - what do you do now with your high and mighty football skills? i really doubt you did ANYTHING with that.
and wow - all your class presidents sucked *** because they were preppy and popular? holy cow. not popular! and preppy to boot!? they must have sucked.
you're an idiot
tell me this - how is it that a class office doesn't mean **** - but football really, really helps you out in life!
Next time you think something up in that pea sized brain of yours try to run it by one of those class officers you hated so much so you don't make yourself sound like a moron. *** hat.

Gesh I was going to flaming you asking noob questions..
But after the outburst for being a Band Geek, I might as well Flame you for That
And this one time in Band Camp
Ok so it wasn't orginal...
Anyway people by upgraded pulleys becuase they weigh a lot less, the pulley on the drive belt is essentially handling the whole power load of the engine, it works the same as buying Lightweight wheels, light wheels wheels are easier to turn, and the car can do more with the power it puts out, same with the pulley, becuase it's lightweight, it is easier to turn, and you don't lose as much power to the wheels.
now go take a chill pill

cams come in different grinds, generally stock cams are perfect for stock engines, when you change your crank to a larger one you stroke the engine, they call those stroker motors, you can also bore the cylinders that means drill them out bigger, and also increase the engine size, either way that is when you would normally go with a hotter camshaft. I put a really hot camshaft in my 69 Bug when I had the 1915 CC engine built, it screams. the downfall it that I have to hit 3000 rpms from the light to even take off without stalling, so a hotter cam is only good if you are going to race all the time, not for everyday use.
