Holy Fu@#!!!!! Hydro Lock???
OMG. .. Guys it was rainin so Freaken hard when i was drivin home. To the point were i couldnt see the road so i put on my hazards and used the reflectors on the freeway to navigate freeway speed was like at 30mph. so anyway i get off the freeway and my car starts to bog down and shutter. so thinkin it was hydro lock i put the car in newtral ( im at a red light) and hold the rpms at 3K ..so anyway it gos away. .but like 2 miles down my engine feels like i down shifted as if i was hitting the breaks ...but i wasnt..so i rev'd it up to 6k for about 10 sec. and it went away...anyone know what might of happend????

sounds to me you just injested some water into the intake, not enough to hydrolock, but in my old focus when i had a short ram intake, the same thing happened when i hit a big puddle of water. if i didn't get the rpm's up it was trying to die. Keep in mind it doesn't take much water to stop combustion from happening. Check your intake for water, try to dry off the butterfly valve and make sure no water is on it. You'll be fine.

If it's only a little bit, the water will evaporate eventually and not cause any problem. I was in the same situation with rain where you can't see, and nothing happened to mine.

yea what ppl said up there.....short ram could not suck up water.
i have a cold air...and i was driving in the heavy rain....suddenly i felt all the lights went out....car is slowing/shuting down.....imediately i shut down the car...and sat on the side the road till the rain was over

yeah, I agree with the stuff above. A SRI can't suck in water, but a CAI will most definitely. If it was hydrolock, you engine would not have been running at all and you would have to rebuild it cause it would be a huge paper weight, and you would be standing in the rain saying,
.....lol as the tow truck came to get you.

mine kind of does something like that sometimes in the rain. it totally shakes the bottom of my car u can feel it at ur feet and it felt like i down shifted at high rpms i think its the piping on my exhaust system. this started doing this after i got it installed. but it only happens at random times in the rain and i just put it in neutral and it stops. i dont think its my CAI cuz no floods or huge puddles to submerge the intake but its just freaks me out when this happens.
I need TP for my bunghole

The car reacts to the weather like people do.
All of a sudden the air temp changes and the car has to adjust alittle.
As for the exahust thing, it is call "thermal shock".
The pipe is hot,
Then you hit a puddle
The exhaust pipe is like damn thats cold
And the exhaust pipe then contracts alittle until it warms back up.
It sounds like the car is having a heart attached or something.
Also the car can do that downshifting sound when you hit a puddle.
Because the wheel has lost traction at that speed
Or the puddle put a strain on the tires rotation.
You should be fine but it if contiues seek a professionals opinion

its your B-pipe supposedly. I have that prob, but I dont step on the gas when it happens, I let off, and pull over immediately!!!!. Supposedly when your B-Pipe gets wet, it changes the shape of it, causing it to vibrate against the bottom of your car. It sound like your car is gonna die, and shakes the hell out of you. It will go back to normal shape when it dries or heats up or something?? I dunno, but it will go back to normal. If thats whats happening, bring your car to Midas or an exhaust shop, and have them bend it down a little so it wont vibrate against your car ever. It is lower to the ground though after that, so you may want to watch out for bumps in the road or speedbumps, especially if you are lowered.
