most stock civics 02/03 alike run in the high 18's. i dought they can beat your del sol because of multipal reasons the mods being the most obvious. other than that who knows. try it
18 second ET's in the quarter mile is usual for automatic civics. 5 speed's run 17s, isnt one member running 16s or something NA?
del sol's put out around the same power as we do (the delsol si has the b16 that puts out 160 so yeah
, right?) but weigh much lighter than our cars, so yeah, no beating THEM in the quarter mile.
si delsols have the b16 VTEC right?

When the public runs reaction time doesn't matter. The clock doesn't start ticking till you move. Atleast thats the way they have it at ATCO Raceway. My 60' sucks really bad though, I usually get like 2.45. My best 60' was like 2.37or2.38ish. My normal reaction time is like .2**-.4**

First, you guys need to check out the track/street/strip forum a little. There, you will learn what other members are running in the 1/4.
Second, only del sol vtec has the b16a3 in it (158 hp). non vtec del sols aren't fast.
Also, this thread is in the wrong forum!!!

well this delsol has a d16z6 i've raced him buthe bet me pretty bad i mean like 5cars lengths. Idon't want to use excuses butmy car was really f@#$ed up my v-tec don' work and then i got to 3rd gear and didn't let me pass 4k rpm. then i raced hi like 2 months later cause i felt the vtec working with out getting it fixed and first we took off but i stayed burning out cause my tires were bald already and then i got taction and he barley bet me by1 car then racin a 2nd time we both took off and i didn't rev so high and we were even off the line then i started pulling away then to 2nd gear and pulled away more and had beat him by 1 car and 1/2 but he said he was'nt paying atenttion to the three honks but we both took off even of the line.
uhmmm a del sol is definately lighter. and 160hp is nowhere near the 127 of an ex ... even though it is close that 33hp will make a big difference. another thing is that who cares if ur ex has vtec because its economical vtec (as someone once called it) its only giving you like 10 hp on an lx and it has nowhere near the effect of the b18c5 might give (the jolt you feel when it kicks in) it just makes ur ex sound kinda cool if u got airbox and exhaust.
ohyeah the d16z6 is it? umm i believe (not sure tho) that it has a SOHC VTEC setup similar to ours, except that its tuned for both performance AND economy, not just economy like our SOHC VTEC. i think with the additional lift and timing changes in the valves on the d16z6, it allows the motor to redline at 7200 (i think...). it sounds kinda like the SOHC VTEC on the J Series v6's in the accord and TL.... not sure tho....

Somebody needs to find the video of the stock civic, manual, running a 15.7 in the quarter. He got an awesome launch. I believe I could easily get into the low 16's watching that video. Let me search for it.

Enjoy, 15.8 BONE STOCK 02 Civic EX manual. I WISH THE VIDEO WORKED. The launch is awesome, after I saw this, I practiced until I got this launch da** good. Our cars can launch hella nice if you practice it.

del Sol is between 2300lbs-2500lbs (between S, Si and VTEC), for some reason they don't seem to run times consistent w. those weights. Half the people who I've heard talking about the del Sol call it the del Slo.

i've ran 16.8 at 3000ft (so sea level time is about 16.5) with injen sri, underdrive pulley, apex n1 exhaust, no power steering on my hx on 15 inch EX steelies with firestone tires...
if you have a manual, you jus need to work on your launch and shifting quick (short shifter and aluminum bushings help A LOT)... i've also learned that shifting at 6500 is better than shifting at redline (6800)... 6500 seems to be the sweet spot for optimal shifting
