when seperating the casing, i've heard of two methods of removing the silicon.
1.cutting it with a knife and pulling
2.oven and then pulling
i have plenty of time to do this, so what would be your opinion in popping the casing? or is there any other ways i havent mentioned.

I would use a hair dryer....heat it up real good...and start prying apart.....it was way easier the second time i did it like that. It's better then the oven cause i didn't want to risk burning the lights ya know.

I used the Knife. Putting it in the Oven seemed a Bit Risque (sp?) for me.
The Hair Dryer is a Darn Good Idea Though, Didn't think of that.
But Knife worked fine, If I were you I would use a Hair Dryer/Knife Combination
Good Luck

def go wit the oven, it will fall apart like whoa. just preheat it to 300 for 10 minutes and then stick the lights in their for like 10 minutes. make sure u take the bulbs out tho cuz they would prolly get messed up.

oven on low...like 100-150 or something like that. or the lowest your oven will go if its regulated.
that will be the easiest to take the lights apart. once theyre apart, use a screwdriver cause its more dull and wont scratch the plastic as much as a knife. and if the rubber gets too hard, hairdryer. smooth sailing. be ready to spend a few hours on this. it took me like an hour per light to scrape all that gunk off. you need it to be as clean as possible so that the caulk can stick and theres enough room for the lights to smoosh back together.

Oven for sure. Low low heat for 5 min. I put my lights on a baking sheet with a dish towel on it being careful not to let the towel hang off the sides. On a really hot day they are easy to pry apart though. But in the oven it comes apart like butter.
i got into a accident w/ my 04 civic and in that accident the other car scraped my headlight so the shop gave me the damaged headlight after i got the car back from the shop and i tried to pull the lens out so what i did is i set the oven to 300 and let it warm up to the temp.. turned it off... put a super wet rag where i was gonna put the light in and laid the light on there for 15 mins... w/ the oven off now!!! so there is no direct heat the i got a flathead and started to drive the flathead part in to the adhesive until i poped the lens out and it worked no burns warping etc so there yu go

i guess just a little oven warmage wouldnt be bad, i think i'll go with the hairdryer though just to be safe. if i had a spare case just to try it out on, i wouldnt be so nervous about it. anyone want to send me one?

Hairdryer doesn't work, heat gun won't even work. It has to be hot in the oven to loosen all the goo at the same time. Even then you're gonna have to pull hard. Maybe mine was harder cause the sedan goo isn't as sticky.
