Rep Power: 0 auto to manual conversion...BOOYA, its DONE.
so after 3 weeks, a local motorsports garage finished the labor intensive work to convert my 7th gen from auto to manual. i can list parts if ppl need them, but the guys that i got to do the work are probably one of the best in this state.
complications along the way:
-torn axle boot
-bent tranny mount
-reflashing the manual ECU has not worked yet, we are going to try some more next week.
-thus i'm running my original auto ECU, with the (D) light blinking and checkin engine light, but no biggie.
-hotwired around the starter b/c the starter won't turn b/c it thinks the car is in (D). (haha i dont need to press the clutch to start the car...)
all in all i dont regret buying the parts and paying the minimal fees for tech-heads to put it in. i love it. i will now entertain questions if any.

Rep Power: 290 its bad to have the car think that the clutch is engaged all the time
it can potentially fry the ecu cuz it happened to my car....
i made the computer think the clutch is engaged all the time so i can have
remote start and clutchless start...but turns out to be detrimental

Rep Power: 314 mm.... last I heard.... tranny swaps would run no less than $2000 if you brought it to a shop.....
so I would say good deal..... but then again, had you started with a manual, you would have saved now.... about $1850.
