New intake setup
Pictures have been updated to new setup.......

Hopefully this combined with the exhaust I am getting off ebay will help give the car some oomph.

But also dude, I agree with Ledbelly, that doesnt look like a good setup. It does look kinda crappy.

Probably unlikely to provide any benefit at less than 60 or so. Above that you might get a little pressure differential that could supply a little fresh air to the intake if you placed the front in an area of high pressure. I'm not sure you could measure a difference though.
That corrugated stuff makes for turbulent air flow.

Im not sure how much cold air its drawing.
You should have bought the "Racing Sports Akimoto makes a spiral flex tubing that is insulated to block heat." leave the intake box alone, just replace the resonator with the spiral-flex.
I should have mine soon.

This was actually stuff I had for my setup on my old car, so no money was recently spent. I'm going to run this while I save some extra money for a real setup, or come up with a cleaner design for this.
Idea in my head is to get another section of pipe to extend the current one towards the front of the car, add a shielded filter with the flex hose connected to it. Oh well, for now this is going to have to do.

OK, after running this for about a week, I have revised the setup. I have put the factory airbox back on, shortened the 3" intake pipe, and fitted it between the airbox and the flexible hose. Now I am finally sucking cold air up into the factory airbox and eliminating all hot air. The setup looks much cleaner, and is definitely better for performance. I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance to take some.

Cool. You should check out this site and at least get an S&B cone filter if you want to try your idea again. They even have a filter cover that you can run hose into.
