installing struts
okay i know this has been asked before but i searched around and couldn't find any info... i actually need to change both of my OEM front struts and i was just curious how hard of a job this was and what the procedure was. any information would be awesome. also if anyone has their OEM struts for a 01 civic laying around and wants to sell them, please hit me up with a PM or a post on here.
thanks in advance.

not really that severe, all u have to do is lay the strut assembly down, and put your foot on top of it and unscrew the bolt on the top and POW presto the whole assembly is dismantled and u can just put it back together with the new shocks and BOOM your done
i knew that.. i was being sarcastic.. when i did mine i got a loaner spring compression from autozone... basically u open the clamp and attach it to the spring... mines had a nut i had to turn to so i just used the air gun to turn it.. but i had two of em so one on each side of the spring.. key thing to doing it is u go little by little going from on clamp to the next

Yah, someone is going to die in the near future trying that foot on the spring technique...
You are much better off just having a mechanic do it, or if you are that strapped for cash, take the whole spring and strut set up off, leave it intact and then bring it to a shop where they can use their pneumatic spring compressor to remove the strut assembly.

It's very easy, even for a suspension noob.... We put a set of hayames and teins in both Grey's and Mystic3030's car and it was a cake job.... Air tools are your friend....
Also, we took the springs out for one set (teins). It wasn't that bad of compression on the springs. We had two people working on them. With a spring compressor, its a two minute spring removal. Without, it was a 15 minute spring removal.......
Good luck...
