Started car on first gear and e-brake up.
sup all. i got into my car today and forgot to put the stick in neutral from first gear and the e-brake was up. when i turned the ignition, the car jerked forward and stalled. i got out and looked at my brakes. the thin metal plate behind the rotor had a crumpled area. i checked the brake on the passenger side and the plate there too had the same crumpled area. should i got to the dealer and have them replace this thin metal plate ( i don't know what it is), or should i just forget about it. the car shifts and stops fine.
uhmm. isnt the car supposed to jerk forward when you take your foot off the cluth? lol Beliieeve me, ha, i am the master at Stalling. I once got out and sat at the bus stop bench cause I couldnt do it
lol. thats funny. i think the thin metal plate i crumpled up is called the e-brake shoe or brake shoe. looked it up on hondaparts.com and it was like $35 for a set. i guess i'll just use the honda waranty.

Wait a sec.... Don't you HAVE to push the clutch in to start the car? I do. It's a safety switch.
I have never heard of anyone messing up their ebrake before. Not by stalling, anyway.

o well, live and learn.. i've never made that mistake since then..

they are meant to take alot more abuse than stalling your car in first. I think that crumpled area is supposed to be crumpled.
If you are looking at the front tires then that has nothing to do with the Ebrake. Our ebrake applies rear brakes only. Also, our front rotors have dust shields. These shields are bent on the bottom from the factory, I believe. You can do ebrake burnouts(not recommended) and not bend any brake stuff
yeah, you guys are right. i spoke to my cousin. i did the same thing to his RSX Type-S last year. the e-brake is only for the rear drums
he said the crumpled plates in the front is supposed to be crumpled. i guess stalling is a part of life
