D17 Gearbox fits older models

Ladies and gents just FYI our gearbox (03 EX) fit onto the D15B engine like stock. With this knowledge on hand it could be expected that it will also fit the D16Y8 engine as well (I don't have one of the D16Y8 block but I have the D15B and it fitted perfectly) ....

This is a pretty generic and broad statement. I would tend to want more proof than to just take your word for it (pictures, part numbers, etc)....There has been a lot of BS floating around here lately, I wouldn't want anyone to get burned by this.

That sounds good, if you can get the linkage to fit, AND the electronic speed sensor. Hmmm...

You're talking about 2 TOTALLY different things.
All the transmissions from the 5th gen on are hydraulic. This is just stating how the clutch is actuated as opposed to a cable linking the pedal to the clutch as in older models.
You probably mean rod linkage vs. the new cable linkage, which I agree... there's no sense for them to swap, but what it should mean is that the guts of the transmissions are interchangable... which could be beneficial because it means you can swap all the D15 and 16 gears in and out along with the final drive gears.

What about the other side though? Are axles a direct fit?

I don't know why everyone is stuck up on just the gear box issue (being swappable, interchangeable gears etc....) I was more looking at putting a D16Y8 block & head on our gearbox and also use our D17 crankshaft in the D16Y8 block (a cheap stroker kit, it works) and put cams into the D16Y8 head etc (there are alot of performance parts for the D16Y8 block on the market........ That is what I was more looking at!!!

Who would be the ginne pig on this one?????

^^ yea but id have to go with prod on this one.... better gears and LSD...
BTW everyone... dont u relize that our clutches and flywheels are the same as previous gen civics. so isnt in obvious THAT our trannys are the same. the only difference is the actual shape of the tranny and how it bolts up that limits us to using our own tranny. I have a tranny sitting on my floor with the bellhousing removed. if ne one needs any pics for research or whatever just ask. ill take pics of whatever u need.
