there's supposed to be a silencer for our stock intakes, where is it located, and how do you take it off? i wanna try taking it off to see how it sounds.

well im sure you know where the air filter is.. well over to the left is a big black box.. well that huge thing is the resonator..
Removing your intake resonator:

i don't recomend it because like he ^ said it will get more hot air into the engine. Hot air = not too good for power. Thats why the fipk has that heatsheild like thingy to block some of the hot air from directly getting sucked in.

The entire intake system is made to maximize airflow. Taking off the resonator will mess that up and also allow hotter air into the engine.

This is a thread about the intake. Taking off your resonator on your exhuast does not hurt it. It just makes it louder. Has nothing to do with adding heat.

Actually, certain parts of the exhaust affect backpressure, but I don't think the resonator is on eof those. I changed the muffler and could feel the car bog at certain rpms. But now the stock one is doing it. Again, this isn't a huge deal with the exhaust.
