Yep, I mean psi too. Most motors I've checked are in the 160 to 185 range. 145 sounded low. However, I work mostly on older cars.
If he were talking about compression ratio, 145 would be on the high side...

SMX he was talking about the standerd post punking civic. everybody always says ratio. I am looking for PSI. I know the lx is 135 to 140 but what is it for an EX. I need to do a compression test and a piston bleed down check. Think I have blow from one of my piston rings or valve guide seals.
well unless all of your pistons had the same misfortune then you can just check the psi for all of the cylinders, it's not like there are a bunch, and if you have one that is way off of the rest then you have a problem, otherwise you are A-OK!
If you're looking for ring and seal problems, just do the compression test and look for deviations. Don't sweat the predicted number.
Do the compression test dry first then squirt a little oil into the cylinder, turn it over a couple times and do it again. If you get different readings wet and dry, you have ring problems. If you have one cylinder that is off wet and dry, it's something at the top of the cylinder (seals).

(opens manual)
Let's see.... at 200 rpm with wide open throttle: Minimum 135psi. (EX)
Maximum variation 28psi.
I'd say you are in the sweet spot.
