Just Installed Revo Short Shifter!
What a great buy! I just drove my car to my buddies house to show off my new shifter and I feel like going out again just to cruise. By the way, I got the capyoda and grey upgrade kits and I believe they made a huge difference.
Anyways I started this thread to tell people about the pains of installation... at least for me. First of all, the diy about removing the center console must be tailored for a 2001 or 2002 vic. I know my 2003 vic was a little different, at least in the compartment section of the console. There is a screw that holds the center console in and its located under the rubber pad in the compartment. Took me forever to figure out what was keeping the thing from popping off!
After that it was a pretty easy install. The four bolts in the corners of the oem shifter can be a pain. Especially the one near the passenger seat. Anyways... thanks to capyoda and grey for an extremely fast shipment on a great product.
Highly recommended!!!!!!

Yup, I have that same combo also. Very good. The hardest part for me was getting the 2nd link cable off. It wouldnt turn for me, hadda use lots of strength.

Secondary cable slides out sideways to the left of the assembly base, main cable you remove the clip and push in towards the front of the car. Then, 1 cotter pin to remove from each cable at the shift bar. Cake.
Are you using needle nose pliers? Start by bending both the arms back close to straight. Then, use the pliers to push the other side out a little bit to get a better bite on the "loop" side. Now just one good yank on the "loop" side and you should be done. Grey's E-clips are definetly easier but you still shouldn't have too much trouble, I don't know what's up. Good luck.
My boot would "sag" down and rub the main linkage sometimes so I folded the boot up where the grey clip clips into the shift ****. Hid that grey piece, didn't rub anymore, and made it look even shorter.
