Magnaflow exhaust hitting frame
Hi, I recently installed a Magnaflow catback on my 03 LX. Everything went smootly except that the piping that connects the muffler to the resonator hits the frame of the car when I turn. This piping bends to clear the rear control arm. It looks like it's bent too high, that's why it's hitting. Does any1 have a solution to this problem?

You can move the hangers that go into the rubber mounts on the resonator to a lower point. By this i mean put the metal hanger into a lower point on the rubber mount. This will lower the pipe and help with the clearance. Of course, if you have your car dropped or lower it, this wont work. You may want to take it to a shop and have them fix it. Should be about 50 bucks.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll try to adjust the exhaust again. I took some pictures of where the pipe is hitting, but they're pretty low quality. It only hits when I'm driving (turning). There is actually a little space when it just hangs there.

By the way, I'm not lowered and have all stock suspension.
Crackhead79, if you could take a pic of your exhaust pipe that goes over the rear suspenstion and connects to the resonator, I would really appreciate it.

Crackhead79, your pipe definitely has more room to move than mine does. I noticed that you guys all have EX's. I wonder if the exhaust hangs differently on the LX or perhaps mine just happens to have a defective bend. I've emailed Magnaflow about this, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I'll probably reinstall the stock exhaust so nothing gets broken in the mean time

Update, I've reinstalled stock exhaust. Magnaflow finally got back to me. I had sent them these pics:

Here's what they had to say:
I guess I'll try to reinstall the Magnaflow one more time. Maybe I just have to give it time to break-in.

Here's what they had to say:
I showed the pics to my engineer and he said it looks pretty normal - the Hondas have tight clearances. He also said you should have between half an inch and 3/4 inch clearance right there where the tailpipe comes close to the frame. So if you have less than that, just loosen the system, re-align it and tighten back up after making sure you have proper clearances. Other than that, if you are still having problems, I would say just get some new rubber grommets from Honda. Hope this helps, thanks again.
I had some problems with my exhasut hitting also. Not a magnaflow, and in a different spot, but i fixed it by doing what the guy from magnaflow said. Loosen the pipes and you should be able to twist everything untill it fits perfect. Hope this helps, and be patient, because it takes a while to get it right.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Problem solved. I had left too much slack in the midpipe slip fittings. Although the piping from the muffler doesn't have any more clearance than it previously did, the exhaust doesn't rock as much as it used to. It no longer hits the frame when I turn. The whole exhuast feels like it's more solid. Happy, happy, joy, joy
