lowering the stock seats any more?

i set my seat as low as itll go and it still is a bit high for my taste. im kinda tall and i like to sit up straight in my car but if i do that, im sitting too high. i can get the good sitting postion if i tilt my chair back a lot but that gives me the gangsta lean and i dont want that since its not that comforatble. the only thing that would satisfy me is to lower the stock seats even more. but is that possible?

there was another thread on this a few weeks ago. The general consensus was that the only safe way to do it was with aftermarket seats or by fabricating your own brackets from scratch (not easy). I know it really sucks, I am 6'3" and am in the same position you are, if I let my hair grow long enough it hits the roofliner... hahah

I want to raise my wifes seat in her 98 civic, and i have taken that seat out to find out there is no way to modify the seat, cause one side of the slider track is rivited making a custom adjustment seem impossible.

I am at the point where the only alternative might be to fabricate some kind of spacers to go between the seat and the floor mounts.

I havent any suggestions on lowering a seat, sorry.

Is anyone else interested in >raising< a seat? If so, I got

1. some time to kill
2. metal stock
3. drill bits
4. mega-grinder
5. large sledge for metal bending
6. patience

I may do it anyway even if noone else is into it. My wife really needs this. So just let me know if there is positive response.

I'm also 6'3", and it's funny as hell to look in my car and see the passenger seat full forward with the back straight and mine jammed back with the seatback kinda gangsta-back...people might think I have a midget passenger or something comapred to mine

I dated a girl who was 5'4" and had a ZX2...she left the passenger seat pushed back for me and when you looked at her seat compared to mine it was the same thing.

And a personal note: I only recently got my Civic, my cars before that: Grand Marquis, Caprice, Crown Victoria

I have been wanting to lower my SI seats for a while, but there is nothing out there to do it.

I am thinking of just going to the dealership and order a set of new rails and experement with them.

I decided that while I might wanna consider playing with the driver's seat, the passenger seat I actually wana lift a little so I can squeeze a sub un under there and have a switch on the dash to turn it on or off for when the women are in the car...think the radio orgasm scene in the Howard Stern movie

^^^gayest idea i have ever heard...and not the most logical thing ever either...you need more than few inches to fit a sub and box under something

ok stupid idea comming this way but what if yoyu were to remove te rails, and make L brackets and attach them to the bottom of the seats with them out then jsut bolt the whole assembly to the floor to the floor where the rails attached? im in class now so i cant actually look to see if this would work.

I never said the box under the seat was workable, just a pipe dream of mine...would be funny if it could get done.
