Question F'd up car

I have a problem with my jetta right now and i can't quite figure out what it is. I have an automatic trans. and everytime i go to hit the brake it will start to stall, and it makes it really really hard to brake. The rpms will go from idle down to 3 or 4 hundred and sit the and studder. I only happens when i slow down and make a complete stop and it has already stalled on my over 6 times in 3 days.

Also when i go into reverse it will jump the rpms to 2000 and then come back down to idle but if i sit there long enough holding the brake it will start to pull really hard it spirts backwards.

I ain't got a freaking clue what it is and my only guess is the torque converter. Just wondering what ya'lls guesses are. You can reply on this thread, pm me, or email me at CPEasy15@netscape.net. Thanks guys

Sounds pretty complicated. You should try to go to a dealership, before tinkering with the engine and accidentally messing it up even more.

IMO your torque converter may be going or something in that area. Dunno you should still take it to the dealer and have them check it out, that's if your car is still under warrenty.

Warm it up, pull the dipstick then look at it and smell it, if it looks brown or smells burned change it and see if the problem continues. Auto trannies can do some pretty wierd things when the fluid gets old.

Other than that I'd say the ECU is having issues at some point, best have VW run a diag on it.
