How to activate Day Time Running Light
I know our civic has day time running light fuse, so how to activate the day time running light in our civic such that the head light will turn on when engine on, and head light will be turn off automatically when engine shut off.
Is all cars in Canada require DTRL ??
Current civic head light will remain on until drain the battery if I forgot to switch it off.
please tell us if you know how to activate day time running light ^_^

That didn't make much sense at all. However, as far as I have read there is a DRL module in DRL-enabled cars. This is probably just a relay wired into the parking brake release wiring, so when the pbrake is turned off the high beams come on with partial illumination (reduced voltage?). I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to ghetto-rig.

I know our Civics have a Daytime running light fuse (which is made in canada
)So, how can you make the Daytime running light separate from the main headlight?
My 2004 Civic's headlight stays on forever (until it drains the battery).
Please let us know, if you have the info

(2001 - 2003 civics) Basically, the daytime running light is that small bulb in the small circle pod, next to the amber turn signal. When you turn the headlights on, this daytime running light is on along with the turn signals. When you turn the lights on, but not the low/high beams on, only the amber signals and the daytime running lights are on.
****I think he wants to know how to be able to turn these small lights on/off separate from the amber turn signals and/or the main headlight.
I don't know how to do it. But he probably wants it to work like the foglights. Mine have a separate switch, but with only light if the headlights/turn signals are on. But I can also turn the foglights off/on while the headlights/turnsignals are on.

86 - 12V power from ON key position
85 - pbrake wire (is a ground)
87a - 12V constant power
87 - nothing (taped off)
30 - tap into corner lamp wires or fog lights
Yes/no? I haven't had my 4th coffee yet, so something may be off in that...

OOOOOH RIGHT!!!!!!
That was probably what he wanted, to have the lights turn off/on with the engine (key in ignition). To have the lights turn off automatically so it won't drain the battery!
don't our cars make that whining buzz if you forget to switch the lights off?

Yup, my car does make a huge whine if I leave the parklights or headlights on when the key is out.
From looking at the brief relay wireup i wrote above, there is a key diff between that and the OEM setup (besides the fact that it's not for the HEADLIGHTS). In Canada, when you turn on the car and release the parking brake, the parking brake wire is grounded, which turns off the brake light indicator in your gauge cluster, and the DRL's come on. However, if you pull the brake back up for any reason while the car is still on, the DRL's don't turn off, whereas in my wireup, if you pull up the pbrake, the DRL's do turn off.
