I know there's a ton of post about VAFC2 troubleshooting, I checked them out but the CEL still comes on:
I connected the VTM according to CarbonFly vafc complete fix
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...hreadid=132810
I also tried setting my H-L and L-H to within 200 of its cutoff
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...hreadid=128671
And I used these settings: L>>>H--4500H>>>L4200 I also tried L>>>H 5200 L>>>H 5000 but the CEL still on!
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ighlight=vafc2
What could be the problem? I couldn't pass over 4000 rpm! and CEL is on! I think the settings are wrong, Please help! thanks!

First off, make sure all the wires are connected properly (a couple aren't used).
I would just leave the vtec points stock. Anything else will lose hp.
Lastly, did you perform the initial setup BEFORE starting the car for the first time? I'm guessing you didn't, and there's your problem. Go unplug the battery and start over, this time reading the manual.
oh and btw, vtec=3 for our cars.

To change it to three, you can just turn the car to on (don't start it) and set the value. Then turn the car back off. After that, it should be saved and you can start it up. No need to disconnect the battery.
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

My vtec is set at 1, and I don't have a CEL problem. But I did go through the rest of the setup also before I started up my car.
I have mine set to passive aka stock, since this was the best setting the dyno tuners found for the most HP gains/pull for my setup anyways. All I remember was that changing it more than stock lots of torque was lost and below stock engine was somewhat unstable. Be sure to get it dyno tuned for the best gains, since they'll know what your a/f ratios should be at each point.

Yeah I'll get it dynoed either today or tomorrow if I can get past 4000rpm, I got everything set right but the CEL is on and I can't get past 4000rpm, I'll put mine on stock also lets see if that one works, that should look like **** right? okay! I'll triple check...
but did you guys put a diode?on the pink and purple wire? the diagram on the manual didn't mention anything but based on the DIY on this site:
http://www.7thgencivic.com/modules.p...howpage&pid=58
On DIY #1 says two DIODES
On DIY #2 says only one DIODE
I followed DIY#1 putting two diodes in pink and purple wire
What is it really? the diagram on the manual didn't mention anything about a diode, did you guys put a diode? if so, which wire? can you tell me all the details please! thanks!

there is no diode used on the vafc2 it works fine without any need to do anything special but hook up the vtm wire. the one that needs to be fixed is the original vafc.
Did you solder all connections? I hope so. double check all connections and do the initial set up again. make sure you read the instructions while you do it so it is right. Leave the vtec engagement on passive also. this has been proven time and time again to be the best setting.

Someone needs to do a DIY and tell all to leave it in passive mode. I dyno'd mine and it was all over the place when I took it out of passive mode. Also if iset the vtec mode to 3, I get check engine light. My car is set to 1. Anyone else experience this?
Good luck all.
