Stretching sound from rear drum brake?
Stretching sound from rear drum brake?
Just like the topic..
have you guys ever experience this? what might be the cause?
there are two situations:
1. when I pull the hand-brake (emergency brake)
2. when I push the brake pedal in IDLE condition
what's wrong?
i noticed the "caliper" of the rear drum brake also rusted...is it normal?
thanx!

thanx for the reply.
when i pull the e-brake, it's quite normal...i think..
but, on the end.....when u have to pull the e-brake bit-harder, there is a stretching sound... from the rear brake...
same thing happened when i pressed the pedal...
no sounds from the front brake...thanx god.
nothing wrong when braking on the road..
problem comes when the car's idle.
have u also experience bit "wingy" noise when you turn the steering wheel a 'lil turn in IDLE condition?

i kind of have that problem too, but i only notice it when i first start the car and its cold. second does the ebrake feel realy tight or loose .. if it feel noraml.. then i should be fine .. if too loose like mine.. when i feel i have pull all the way up.. then u might need to adjust your shoes in the back.. you might need new shoes in the back. or it can be the brake lines.. more info please
brakes usually rust when it sits there for a period of time. or if it's really moist. that's always normal. cause when you drive and hit the brakes a couple of times then the rust should go away. this kind of weather usually causes the noise too but after you drive it for a while the noise should go away.
hm hm hm
yup, thanx for the infos again guys..
i think im gonna tighen up the e-brake while doin the REVO SS DIY...
i just noticed that the "stretching" sound was actually when I pull the e-brake and then pushed the pedal....that's probably why...i put too much foce on it...
i think im gonna tighen up the cable, later...
thanx guys!
anyway, i looked and the "caliper" of my drum brake...however, it's really rusted....
hm....it's not the inside...but the outside...you can look at it directly when ur lookin at ur rear wheel....
