0-W30 ok instead of 5W-20 in 04 EX?

Amsoil recomended this type to replace the stock type. Anyone else use this in their car?

I use it all winter long. Then 5-30 in the summer. I haven't used 20 weight pisswater since I drained the stuff from the factory.

I think I'm going to go for the 0W-20 by Mobile 1 on my next change. Don't know if I'd want to change the viscocity of the oil... But if boiler did it and hasn't had any problems, might be okay

Its just a "recommendation" that Honda makes up so you get better gas milage. If you're going to flog it like a red headed step child, you should be using thicker oil.

i dont think the weight of the oil is as major an issue (in regards to potential engine damage) as people think, considering that some Honda dealers put 10W-30 into unknowing people's Honda's all the time.

Let's not foget that the newer Mustangs take the same oil guys so if these engines are fine using 5w-20 / 0w-20 synthetic then we should all be fine.

Actually most ford's are using the 5W-20, my gfs Taurus uses it.

The problem is I can't find it in synthetic for under 5 buck a quart

I paid 4 something for my 0w20 at Advance Auto. ow20 is what they recommend we use in a synthetic.
