e-brake install
Hey what's up???? Can sum1 pleeze help me out.... I just purchased a new e-brake handle for my civic, but I cant seem to remove the stock handle, how can I go about in removig the original, or am I stuck with something that I cant use and cant return... Any help would be most appreciated.....
Okay, here's what you have to do...go here to find out how to remove your entire center console DIY Console Removal ... after you have done that, you are going to have to cut or take off the current covering off your e-brake, mines rubber...then install the new one...I don't know how this will look, you may want to buy a new boot cover for your e-brake so that you don't have metal showing...

I've got both the handle and a boot on their way. You said yours was rubber, was the handle rubber with a metal tip? If so did you have to cut yours, or is there another way to remove it without damaging the original handle, or is that dead?
You just cut it off at the right length . . . there will also be a metal piece getting in the way when you try to install the new one. I used a metal file and a dremel to get that metal off.

We'll see what happens... I should be getting my brake and boot by friday, so if all goes well, I'll install them that weekend... If I remember I'll drop sum pics.... But if anyone has any other way to remove the biotch without cutting let me know.... I'm a lil scurrd cuz I have heard sum peeps have had problems with aftermarket e-brake handles....
in my '04 theres a center console so the ebrake handle is off to the right and not dead smack int he center... it is also just a regular grey plastic handle with grey plastic button. I think this will fit perfectly with the momo pit stop ebrake set i purchased but have yet to try to install yet. Any one in the same situatioN?
