looks like it'll fit our car. i think. the downpipe seems a bit longer.. I mean before the curve...

and er.. looks like its most likely a straight pipe than an actual cat convertor.

high flow cats usually don't do much at all. It is usually just a straight pipe with not much catalyst inside. That looks more like a resonator to me than a converter.

I have that hi-flo cat. It is Megan Racing. Works really well once broken in and sounds good at mid-range. Mid-range and top end pulls a little harder.

i have been told by a bunch of ppl that high flow cats are pointless, the gov't regulates how much stuff is inside a cat, so unless u makt urself, its a waste of money to buy one. the only thing i see good in it is if its a wider pipe size.

a high flow cat will allow gases to travel through it faster, where you can gain a few hp. You will lose some torque because you will be losing backpressure. if you can do it, straight pipes will provide the most hp, but you usually can't get away with that unless you have a pure race car.

will that fit with an aftermartket header, say a DC Sports ceramic 4-1 header?

If you live in states with poor emission controls and no state inspections than just run that or even better, a piece of straight pipe. Here in Florida they have no laws at all i think regulating emissions, compared to NY where you need to have inspections and emissions testing.

Yes, it has a bolt pattern. All cat-backs, headers, and hi flo cats have a bolt pattern. It is very common to mix-match different cat-backs, headers, and hi flo cats.

Not true - almost all converters (not labled as "racing" converters) have virtually the same "amount" of catalyst in them (regulated by the gov't). The only difference between them is that a "high-flow" cat has a larger surface area, which causes less of a restriction to flow (ie a properly designed true high-flow cat will have a large short barrel type catalyst vs a long small, narrow one). This accomplishes the same thing, but reduces the pressure gradient across the catalyzing material.....

Racing converters I believe do have less, which is why they say "off-road use only" on them - because the government can't regulate off-road vehicles.

The one in the picture above that I have (Megan Racing) said "off-road use only) and the piping was bigger than the stock rusted downpipe.

Wondering the same ^^, i belive the megan and top speed are the exact same downpipes.

I will either be getting one of these downpipes or a magnaflow converter that has to be welded on

also you guys remember the post about our civics making a crazy ratteling/gringding noise when it rains only.... you think a new cat midpipe will resolve that issue? (i know its a bit off th etopic but all you got to do is say either yes or a no) thanks
