maintence light.....how serious?

Aight so my maintence light is now flashing at me. I read the manual and did a search on the topic. I learned how to reset it, and am going to go do it now.

MY question is. What all does honda do for thier 10,000 mile check up? How much does it cost (assuming an arm and a leg), and if i dont get this done at honda will it void my warrenty.

The warrenty question is my main concern, b/c my last car (audi a4) if i didnt get the oil done at an audi dealer it woudl voide my warrenty. I dont change my oil at honda dealership, b/c the oil changes are not free like they were at audi. But i am wondering if i dont get the car serviced at honda am i going to void the warrenty?

THANKS!

OMFG, BRO seriously, you should bring it to honda right away... there is obviously something wrong with the air fuel mixture and the battery moisture will cause it to blow up....

jk, It shouldnt void your warranty... but every dealership is different

Geez . you guys are brutal. .

10,000 Mile service includes:

Oil/Filter Change
Fluid fill
Inspection of all fluids, cables, lines, boots, suspension
Tire rotation
Test Drive

$50. and if you don't do it and keep the records of having it done. . kiss your warranty goodbye.

I dont think so tim. Honda does not void your warranty for doing self maintenance or for resetting the light when you did. And the reset is in the manual, so.

They can Void your warranty if you get your oil Changed at Jiffy lube then next time you bring it to honda they can say NO. They can if they want to cause of scheduled maintences and all that other BS. They have a log on when you had your oil changed and so forth. They just dont want to be liable if one day change your oil then your motor locks up for some reason cause you didnt tighten the oil plug in and all the oil drained out. Gotta read the small print and all. That's why its there but ppl think its nothing and expect EVERYTHING to be fixed under warranty. I havent looked at all the info on the warranty and procedures of voiding the warranty. Thats just my two cents.
Someone that works for a dealership back me up on this or someone?? Please !!!! Well i know i got WAYY too many miles on my car. I got it in Late March 2002 and its Late Dec and i got 48,000. I need a beater to keep my miles down. TN to NC 220 miles is a lot one way and once a month. Also just driving around to AutoX's and fooling around.

this is off honda's website:

If I have my maintenance services performed by someone other than a Honda dealer, will my warranty be voided?
Not if the maintenance is performed properly. The only way your warranty may be affected is if it can be shown that misuse or improper (or lack of) maintenance caused or contributed to the malfunction.
A Honda dealer's technical training is more current than any after-market shop in town, which means a dealer knows your Honda best and is in the best position to provide proper services at the appropriate intervals.
