I tried installing the reverse indiglos... i pulled the needles straight up, and now when everything is installed, ALL the needles went wacko. Please guys...

what are my options?

you don't have to buy a new one. just recalibrate at the honda dealership. all they need to do is plug your SCS connector to the computer and reset the standards.

wtf did u do wrong.....u pulled the needles off that what, two maybe honda can recalibrate them now but when i did that they had to get me a new cluster, send it out to put the mileage on it and then re install it, all under warranty of course

Okay, what exactly did you do? I've taken mine in and out over 20 times and never had a problem. I think they're supposed to reset when you plug the cluster back in?

Did you pull them out at their resting positions and put them back in the same way? Getting a new cluster is not a good thing. Your mileage will be whatever is on the old cluster and will ruin the resale value of your car. If you get a brand new one, the mileage will be 0.

Try and put everything back and take it to Honda. Just say you don't know what happened and they might fix it under warrenty.

Another idea. Did you push the needles down completely? If you did, they may be sticking to the face. Try and put them on halfway or something and see if that does it.

2.mileage on the old one, hello way better bc u keep on driving while they set the mileage
3.therefore not ruining the resale value
4.getting a new one will not set the mileage at 0, honda is dumb most of the time, but they aint going to give someone a cluster and put 0 miles on it, they send it out and have it set

Honda will not send it out. At least the one in my area won't. They said they will put a sticker inside the door that says mileage was reset on this date. If you get one with miles on it already, that's fraud and could get you in trouble if you ever sell the car. A new one comes from the factory with 0 miles. Mileage is stored within the cluster, but there is also a place in the ecu that keeps track of real mileage. It can be checked to verify miles.

maybe it was ur honda then, mine took the old one, got me a new one, sent it to michigan, had it set, to the mileage on the messed up cluster then put it in and sent me on my way

Don't put the needles on all the way! Just halfway is good enough, so the base isn't touching the face.

when i did it i didnt take off the needles just bent them up and if its sticking when u get to 80mph its because the gauges arent flush against the back i had to super glue them down then after that i didnt have any problems try that

i did the same and after they stuck i replaced it beack to stock
and went to dealer told them it just started to stick they replased it
with a new one and mine was at 0 when i got it i ask them y and they showed me the sticker on door honda tecks are so lazy

ps. my father works for honda they can put org miles on it

I heard someone on here say that when you plug in the new cluster it goes to the mileage that is on the car. I think the miles are stored in the ecu and not the cluster. I may be wrong though.

Skipbarber's Gauge Cluster FAQ. People should not offer opinions if they don't know what they're talking about. Gearbox and Gizcivic are correct!!
When swapping clusters, you can have Honda put a sticker on the door jam or they can flash the new cluster to the correct mileage.
And actually mileage IS SAVED in the ECU.

when i put my guages on i didnt touch the needles ... just worked around them

same thing happened to me. i took my needles off and everything went crazy. i took it back to the dealer and they gave me a whole new gauge cluster. resetted my odometer back to 0. so now i have to add 5760 to the odometer to get the actual milage. im thinkin about takin it back to the dealer to get them to add on the milage.

I've had my needles out so many times and they're still fine. I even once pushed one below it's stop point. As long as they're in the right position, it should reset. If not, you can always take them out and try new positions.
