where to install turbo goodies
i wasnt sure to post here or FI, sorry about that.
i need to find a place where i can install guages, electronic boost controller, and turbo timer. the problem is if my parents see it theyll get pissed cuz they think its all waste of money.
guages aren't really a problem, i can bs that theyre fake and cost 10 bucks from kragen or sumthin. but boost controller and turbo timer actually look kinda expensive i guess. my friend suggested to make a din or wutever out of fiberglass and put it next to the change holder , so its kinda hidden by the steering wheel, and make a cover so people cant see lights from the display. if theres anything else that wud be better hiding spot, or safer or easier to install or whatever, cuz i dont want to try fiberglassing.
edit: i havent decided which boost controller to get yet, and im probably gonna get the apexi turbo timer

ok, ractive has a Cluster Bezel, that replaces ur indash plastic thingy...sorry, forget what its called, with that you can put 2 gauges in, it looks tight and doenst draw alot of attention because you dont have guages mounted on your pillar. I will post pix of mine this week. As for your boost controller etc, you think about making a face and mounting it in your glove box, i dont know how "secretative" you wanna get but, you can get a nice piece of black plastic or fiberglass and mount all that stuff in your glove box so no one knows you have it, and just pop it open when you wanna use it. Im tryin to keep mine as a sleeper so, im tryin not to got as elaborate as others. But just some ideas for you to kick around....

screw what your parents will say, if it is your money, they shouldnt say ****. I get crap from my parents all the time about what I buy for my car, I just tell them what I bought was way less then what I paid for it, then I tell them to shut the hell up and leave me alone. works great.

talk about making your car a sleeper, its hard enough to do it from the outside but to be able to tell nothings changed from the inside? you want to keep those gauges and electronics in sight to keep an eye on things. seems like a waste of time, besides dont you parents (or atleast your dad) know anything about cars? you dont think they'll think somethings wrong when they hear a loud *** "PSSSSSSHHH" everytime you change gears?
Move out, get an apartment. Thats what I did anyways, but then again, it takes me about half a year to save up enough money for a turbo. It blows giving all your money away to bills and whatnot, but it's cool living alone.
