Alternator
Alternator
Hey y'alls... Okay so today I'm driving to get my check from my job, and my charge indicator light comes on. I thought (hoping!!) that it was just my battery wasnt holding a charge anymore, so I go and buy a new battery. Right, that didnt do it. So, I'm guessing its my alternator. I go to the service station at the dealership I bought my car from, and he tells me its gonna be $600 to fix. That sounds a lil high to me. You guys have any idea of what I should expect to pay for this?
I'm sure I can do the work myself, but yeh, I'm just curious what you guys think. How hard is an alternator to put in and what should I expect to pay for the part?
Thanks for the help folks.

thats very high for an alternator you can go get one from an autoparts store and usually they have a program if you buy it and return your old one you get your money back. its only a few wires 3 I think and the belt . easy to install yourself.
