I have the megan racing cat and I would say its worth saving the money buying that one. It fit perfectly, 2.5" stainless, mandrel bent and has what looks like a stainless glasspack welded on to it. It came with the rear gasket. The holes for the sensors were already in place of course. I have absolutely no complaints about it.

I ordered the Megan Racing hi flow cat and I should be getting it next week also. So how is the sound without the cat and were there really any gains after it was broken in??

Acidbaby, I hope you already have a nice cat back system because I dont yet...I modified the factory exhaust by having an exhaust shop chop it right before the resonator and then they welded on 2.25" straight piping with a universal tanabe style muffler. By doing this along with have the high flow cat added my car is very very loud. Its somewhat quiet at idle but its almost like I'm riding header out when I floor the gas. I did notice a little increase in power but not much, it does rev faster. Its hard to notice these things with the car being so freaking loud. I wont be able to afford my geddy evo until this Jan unfortunately so until then I have to put up with the noise or put the factory cat back on and thats not happening.

Yeah I'm in like the same situation that you were in man. I have 2.25 custom piping welded to my stock cat with a universal muffler on the end. I am going to have to have a muffler shop put the downpipe on and hopefully cut my custom my custom piping off of the stock cat and connect it with the new hi flow. How do you think I should get the two connected, welded, a bolt pattern?? Or should I just get the 2.25 piping redone but keep the muffler??

wouldnt the race cat and downpipe from mantaray motorsports be better than the street? it looks like it would be (if you dont care about it being legal) plus its cheaper.

Maybe its just my job talking, but I wouldn't want to put on a high flow cat and gain maybe 10hp but at the same time polute x2 times more. Atleast here, in Dallas, pollution is really bad due to 500000000000 suburbans, tahoes, and trucks with high flow cats. Its sucks to to take a breath. Im just rambleing, please don't listen to me :D .

If I were you Eeeeeh, I would weld the piping on this new high flow cat like you did to the stock cat. Use the flanges and bolt them together like its supposed to go, but if you do that, make sure the flange that the muffler shop uses has an opening that matches the same as the flange on the high flow cat, that will give you the best flow I think. Also another thing to keep in mind is the loudness you're going to get out of this new high flow cat. If you still have your resonator from your stock exhaust, you may want to have them weld that thing back into the picture to keep the noise level down, or go buy a glass pack or something...This is the main reason why I'm saying screw it and I'm just gonna have to break down and buy the entire legit cat back system from Greddy. It already has the 2.5" piping I believe and I know it comes with a resonator already welded into the mandrel bent piping so I know a legit cat back exhaust will give me everything I need as far as peformance and noise levels are concerned. Its better to go this route in my opinion rather than waste time and money trying to get a custom cat back system tuned right.

Its fine if you decide to stay with the custom cat back, I'm just saying, you better do something extra to it in order to keep the loudness down, because if you think I'm joking...all I got to say is, get ready for the noise! hahaha Its gonna be nasty too.

Well the owner from the shop said he would give me a $50 discount on the Megan Racing Cat Back making the total $300. But I dunno, I have really been wanting to drop my car and tune my suspension. So it is going to have a nasty sound?? When I just had the muffler and 2.25'' piping I had a deep, clean sound. Now with the header it kinda grumbles, so with the Hi flow am I gonna get more of the grumbling sound??

Dude, the sound is discusting and this is exactly what I have now...dc header, megan high flow cat and straight piping all the way to the back with a universal muffler attached. The noise level must be, I dunno , maybe over 130db when its floored over 3,000 rpm...now thats just a guess, but I'm tellin ya, you're NOT gonna like it. Its hard to describe. It sounds almost as loud as riding header out at high RPM's, seriously. It sounds like a high performance weed eater too. Sounds like **** and I hate it, I cant wait to do something about it.
