Hey man. Check out my sidemarker DIY in the tech forum. I just found out how to do this. If parking lights are on, sidemarker stays on. If only signal is flashing, sidemarker will flash in sequence with it. If parking lights AND signal come on, the sidemarker blinks out of sequence. Inanimatecarbonrod has a DIY as well, but my way only involves tapping two wires.

thanks this helps alot. what i want to do is make a halo slightly larger than my 7440 bulb in my rear turn signals and make it into there so that when i put my turn signal on it will flash from the halo to the bulb ( maybe put a led bulb in). i think it would be original and look pretty cool. anymore input would be good

To get the effects above, you need to tap a parking light wire and the turn signal wire. You would only get the alternate effect when the parking lights are on AND you use the signal.

hey its a four door! and its only an idea, who knows it may be pretty good! i ahve plenty of time to try it so who knows!

thanks gearbox. so are you sayin tap the rear parking light and tap the turnsignal? the thing is that i only have a positive and negative wire. does this require a relay or anything like that?

Nope. You are tapping two positive leads. One to park and one to signal. That's all. When the park lights are on, the signal wire acts as a ground and vice versa. That also creates the alternate effect when park lights and signal are on together. When signal comes on, it blocks the ground. When it blinks off, they come on again.

Hmmm...that would be cool to do on the front end. Have a side marker on the front bumper...alternating with the turn signal. I might try that!!

It looks better than I thought, and it only does it when the lights and signal are on together. I saw another car that had them like this.
