Wheel Bearings?

Well here is a question maybe someone out there can answer... a long time ago i had gotten into a lil accident witha curb...about a year ago to be more exact...when i had gotten the alignment all fixed up...the guy who did it had told me that there might be a chance my Wheel bearings could go out on my front passanger side tire...and well now i have been hearing some sorta metal against metal type sound coming from that tire...and doesn't seem to e the brakes and nothing seems to be lose up there either...so im wondering if anyone knows anything about wheel bearings if tha would start to cause some sort of weird metal against metal scrapping type sound. .and if so what i should do to go about fixing it ..i've lokoed around on the net for wheel bearings...but can't find a thing..all i come up with are like ATV type things...but anyway if anyone knows anything about any of this please help me out ...or if anyone has any sugestioins on what the problem or sound maybe from...thanks..
