DIY: Blue Dash Lights

I tried those "gels" to change the color of the gear indicator in the guage of my automatic... I left the little red square for P and N and rubbed the green squares for the other gears. I cut a bit of the gel for those gears but the light doesn't shine though it correctly. I can't see what gear i'm in anymore when my headlights are on.

drew, alpine...still no pix on the diy. im new, so i didnt get to see them when they first got up. would like to see them if anyone has done this. can someone email me?
also, would i be able to change the speedo/dash with this procedure? i like the blue lights (like the VW has) but i also like the black dash during the day. do i have to get the reverse indiglos to get the blue effext or will this work?

Rep Power: 0 I just got my Reverse Indigli gauges in the mail today and wanna install them, but I wanna do the DIY blue dash also to match the gauges, but I cant see the pics either. I wanna do them together so I only have to remove the dash once...hmm..mebbe I'll paint the center trim piece too. Anyways, if someone (Alpine or other) has the pics for this DIY, please do share.

Rep Power: 0 Alright, I just did my dash (the head-unit, as well as the cruise/mirror/moonroof lights) all in blue lights. I'm gonna try and get some pictures and post a DIY sometime in the next day or two for those of you that would like to. When I get around to changing the Auto light in the power window button, I'll let ya know that too. If anybody would like more info, just PM me, or e-mail me

Rep Power: 0 damn that looks sweet, but how does the little orange icons look when the lights are on? you know: the little defrost icon, etc. you can't really see them on the picture.
also, did you use film or did you get blue lights or cover them with the blue sleeves?

Rep Power: 0 this dude in a 2k1 civic pulls up to my job and i go outside and my friend is like he s got everything, turbo, n2o i was like holy f*****g **** thats hot, im lookin at the movie playin on his dvd player and he gets out of the car all of asudden evry 10 seconds the interior lights behind the buttons and teh speedomerts etc flash off and on twice really fast 
when he got back in the car while it was still running the strobe stoped [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/IMG] and he left..

Rep Power: 0 How does the dash set up look without the red/orange lenses and without adding the blue "condoms". I already have a lot of blue accent lighting in my ride (i.e. SpeedGlo pedals, Dome light, and I plan on doing the reading lights as well). They look sick in blue but I think that it'll be just a slight bit of over kill.

Rep Power: 368 Mine are LED as well, much better, looks more pimp - think about it, gels or condoms filter light, thus reducing intensity. Just takes a little courage, but you can do it!!!

I did some readjustments a lil while ago cos I forgot to take out the gel for the blue part of the heater controls....so it's brighter now than in the pix...

Rep Power: 0 hey can someone please show me how you are supposed to do the resistors or whatever? cuz i tried to do it today but for some reason the lights won't come on at all so i'm hoping tomorrow i can fix the resistors and it'll work. everything lights doesn't light up except for the emergency signals button and the lights for when the AC, ReCirculator, Defroster are on. i hope those leds aren't blown yet. i did it using HankScorpio's DIY but the image for how the resistors are supposed to look are too general or too blurred. PLEASE HELP. I WANT MY DASH TO LIGHT UP AGAIN

I can't understand you too well. Do the AC/Recirculate/Defrost buttons light up? How about the VentPosition/FAN/HotCold *****? Does your instrument cluster light up?
Make sure you connected all of the harnesses to the correct sockets before you put the headunit console back into the dash.

Rep Power: 0 hmm.. it was an issue of the bulbs.. the leds didn't seem to work with me.. i guess i did the resistors wrong. so now i told honda to work me replacements bulbs. now can anyone possibly get the "condoms" for me? of course for a payment of course. if its possible.. tell me wassup
