IN TANK or IN LINE FUEL PUMP for RETURN Conversion
Hey there people.
Techies, please help.
I'm planning on converting to a RETURN fuel system on my 2k1 Coupe. I was about to order the WALBORO 255lph, when I thought....is it an IN TANK F/P that I need...or an IN LINE F/P that I need to order? Can anyone help with this??
Also....if some1 can get me a part # it would be awesome.

I"m not sure what the SF Fuel kit includes. But if it has anythin' to do with an FMU, I'm going to skip on that.
What I'm trying to accomplish here is converting to a return fuel system utilizing a walbro fuel pump and managing fuel via the v-afc and using some aftermarket injectors. Build your own.....kinda deal.
Thanks for the suggestion though. I will look into it.

wallboro has two 255 pumps available, one of them provides much higher pressure and is the same price. I think that would be more than sufficient for even a radical civic. Personally i would always shop around for an intank to do the job, rather then an inline (just for the noise factor)

The SF kit is fine - it is an inline pump setup. But it has limitations. For one it is "custom tuned" for their boost setup. Every car / turbo setup is different. If you want to push your car / hp / etc - get the return system and tune it. If you want to just slap it in and go, get the SF kit.
I personallly am going the semi-custom route. From what I have heard and read on here, doing the return conversion isn't all that hard - the hardest part is the fuel rail, which has to be modified since AEM doesn't have their rail released for our cars yet (if ever).
The Walbro 255 in take pump is supposed to fit our cars like a glove (again, from what I've read). But there are some other modifications that need to be performed in the tank - such as disabling the in tank regulator.....

I've already PM'd Boosted2k2 and he's been extremely helpful. As have been alot of people on the boards.
FYI...the IN TANK pump to use is the one for 92-00 civics. It takes some modification, as some1 else mentioned in this thread.... I will keep you all posted.

I have the 255lph Walbro intank pump in my car and it works just fine. I would recommend the intank pumps just because the 255 lph pumps are so loud. All the Civics from 92-up use the same harness connection so you can use any fuel pump for civics in those years. The fit is sorta tight in the shell with the Walbro but it works just fine. Hope this helps you out a little.
