Endyn Port and Polish info - PLUS camshaft question / info!
I have emailed Endyn about their porting and polishing services, since it seems that there is a lot of folks here that are interested in PnP jobs.
I asked what services they offer, costs involved, and about camshaft info. Here is what was returned from them:
Ok, big question here! In my email he states that the D17 camshafts are the SAME as the later model D16's!!
Are the D17's just 2001+ or what? I wonder what the merit of truth is behind this?! If that's the case than we can just get reground D16 cams!
I asked what services they offer, costs involved, and about camshaft info. Here is what was returned from them:
Basic Head Package: $795.00
Square head by milling the deck parallel to the camshaft bores.
Mill chamber reliefs around each valve seat.
Custom radius/discrete valve job. Larger than stock seats at no additional charge. Seat heights set to within .001" intake and exhaust to insure the same piston to valve clearance in each cylinder.
Rework port bowls and blend into seat asymmetric seat radii.
Blend and smooth chamber.
Match intake entries and exhaust port exits to spec.
Mill head to CC specification.
CNC chamber rework to match larger bore diameters adds $100.00
Assemble with new Honda valve seals and valves / springs / retainers requested.
Full-Ported Head Package: $1095.00
Includes all of the above.
Full chamber rework.
Full intake port rework.
Full exhaust port rework.
Spot flow ports to verify results.
CNC chamber rework to match larger bore diameters adds $100.00.
Conversion of VTEC heads to fit non-VTEC blocks at no additional charge.
Pro-Full-Ported Head Package: $1475.00
Includes all of the above.
Custom port and chamber "tweaks".
4-6 hours of flow work to insure ports are within .5% at every .050" lift increment.
Angle milling and CNC chamber rework included.
Valves:
Our custom stainless valves are available in any head package for 14.95 each, or $17.95 each outright.
Valve springs range from $295.00 per set to $399.00 with camshaft and engine usage determining the which springs are used.
All titanium retainers are $150.00 per set. Standard height, as well as +.030" and +.060" are available.

I think he means that the measurements for the d17 and d16 are the same. Ive read where someone found that the clutch for the d16 engine fits the d17 because of the exact same measurements. The prices are nice, but I dont have any money.
