During my recent oil change everything went fine, until i removed the oil filter and noticed it was dry inside. As natural i freaked out and thought my car was broken. It has been driving fine and has had no abnormal noise comin from under the hood.
So i bunched a hole in the filter and all the oil came spilling out so i assume that it was just clogged.
So my question is, should i be concerned about my car or just assume that it was a defective filter?????
thanks for your help

i never heard of such a thing....but yeah, maybe it was sitting too long. You are suppose to run ur car up until it hits normal running temperature b4 u drain ur oil.

Dry? The filter sits at an angle, so when you take it off it wont be totally full. If it was clogged you wouldnt have any oil circulating and your engine would run sieze up I would think. Unless there is some oil filter bypass..
