i just saw this, its on my passanger side, the key lock was pushed in for some reason, i maby have used this side with a key about 10 times for the 2 in a half years i have had my car... can somebody tell me WTF happened?

You have to take the interior door panel off to put it back in place. While your door is off, look for a metal U-shaped clip inside the door. Because that metal clip is what hold the lock piece from sliding back like that. The clip may have popped off by accident.

After my car was repaired from my first accident, that happened a few days later. I watched the mechanics as they took off the panel and they showed me the clip

It's thin like a paper clip, and it's not exactly "U" shaped. it sort of looks like this: {_}

I don't think it will go back any further, or fall into the door or anything like that. But you can forget about opening it by key because you won't be able to get the key all the way in
