i was just wondering, do stock engines come with some kinda bypass valvue on the intake against water, i mean if you drive in a flood will u hydrolock ?

another thing, i wanna go getto intake style, but a tube from my stock filter, but i was thinking of placing it downwards toward the bottom of the car as to suck in colder air, will that be dangorous ?

seriously, some people amaze me sometimes, not neccessarily you, but why the FVCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK would u drive into a puddle deep enough to submerge the front of ur car, and hydrolock it, i just dont get it

also u have to submerce the qir filter completely in water to hydro lock

Here I'll try to answer your question. If you open your hood and look at the stock intake, you'll see an opening on the left (as you're looking at the engine) over by the passenger side quarter panel and that's where the intake sucks air in from. In order to hydrolock it, you would have to submerge that opening in water. In other words, to hydrolock a stock intake box, you would have to be in water that was almost up to your hood, and if you're in water that deep, you have bigger problems than hydrolock.

If you add a tube or something so that it sucks air from down below, then you just have to be careful that that tube doesn't get submerged in water. The lower you go, the more dangerous it is.

No don't try to do a custom job go with an AEM cold air intake there really is a difference in horsepower trust me and buy the air pypass filter thingy and you will save yourself of having to buy a new motor because you ruined the old one. It goes cheap i think they are like 200 or 175 and thats better than a few 1000 to repace motor don't you think
