Update On The Apex-i Vafc 2

My friend just bought the new apex-I vafc 2 for his 2002 civic ex, and asked me to install it for him, so I opened it up and checked the book to match up the engine with the ecu diagram. Here is the first problem the book shows h8-a [4plugs] ecu diagram for d17 engine but the [3plugs] ecu in the car looks like h7-a [3 plugs] ecu diagram for k20 engine so we called up Apex-I in Cali. We were told to use the [4plugs] h8-a diagram as it states in the book, few minutes later we find out that this year and model has still problems with the check engine light and it will not work, I'll say it again WILL NOT WORK. He said that they are in process of testing it, no date available on the fix. He said “only this year and model”, so I cannot say if it will work for 2k1 ex or 2k3 ex.

that makes no sense.. the only difference between 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004, are just cosmetic. and some minor interior changes. all mechanics are the same.

and i believe there are like two members with complete and working VAFC-II's. namely Hwoody?

I had the first VAFC and just used the the wire from that...It's the same except the orange wire from the VAFC 2 is used for the i-vtec (which you don't use) Just go by the VAFC wiring diagram and the ECU wiring diagram for our car. I think if you search you'll find them both
