Kamikaze install problems
Hey i got my kamikaze headers for DX/LX yesterday and started installing them earlier today when i ran across a problem.
Taking the header off was easy enough to figure out, hooking up the MIL Eliminator and soldering the wires was as well but when i put the kamikaze on i realized that the "nuts" that hold in the 2 screws that connect the exhaust to the header are welded onto the old header.
Am i doing something wrong or am i supposed to go out and buy some screws? Anyone know what size i should get?
And yes i did search, i can't find anything on kamikaze installation. But feel free to make me look stupid and send me a relevant link though, i really just wanna get my car off the blocks in my garage.

no there is nothing wrong, the old header didnt have threads on the bottom of it because of the nuts. the new header is way thicker and
it is threaded. i was wondering the same thing for a while until i looked at a friends car and wada ya know the same thing. so no big deal, i guess you could get a bolt for looks but you dont acctually need it. if you really look the space that the nut on the old header covers on the screw, is about the same width as the new header got without it!
but i have an ex so someone correct me if im wrong

BLARG !!!
I designed my own intricate system of nuts and washers but it's leaking a lil' exhaust down at the header and exhaust connection so ima just go get it welded when i get a chance.

ummmm... might not be.
i thought MIL doesnt work on ours.. u gotta get o2 simulators. but eh I'm not sure on that.
i dont see how exhaust leak will trigger the sensor.. since both are before the leak point...
unless u got a hx, there's 2 more after that.. but...

I have the kamikaze header on my car ... no CEL ... the mil eliminator works just fine and there is no exhaust leak, from what I can tell. I didn't solder the mil elim., though ... I just used butt connectors

If you look at that pic you can see where the header connects to the exhaust . . . that nut on the top isn't there cuz it's welded to my stock header. Thats why i'm having the leak.
And i am probably gonna check the wires again on the simulator to make sure it's on right.

i have it, i went to honda and had them give me some nuts that will fix the spring loaded bolts, my MIL eliminator works perfect, no CEL after about 10,000 miles, you need a 2 inch donut gasket to keep it from leading exhaust, and you need the bolts for the LX, to make it a tight connection so you dont have a leak!

They didn't have em' at home depot, ace hardware or lowe's. The nut is 8mm 1.25 and every nut they have in that size is too small in diameter for the hole on the header. Once you start to torque it down it just slips through that hole.

Allright it was because my old gasket was a POS . . . it was all ripped apart, probably from when i installed the new kamikaze.
I think the CEL came on because the sensor was loose but how do i reset it?

the stock gasket is to small. You need a 2 inch donut gasket, you can get it at any pep boys or automotive place, the bolts i couldnt find at a hardware store either, the guy at the honda dealership gave them to me for free. My CEL works fine, just look over the diagram and make sure you have everything connected right. Disconnect your battery for like 10 minutes, and then turn your car on and let it idle for about 5 minutes without touching anything and it will reset your ECU and you CEL.
