OK, first off, I have searched on this, and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. My question is : do I have to jack up the car to install an RSX rear sway bar? I guess what I'm really asking is; do I need to take the weight off the suspension? My driveway is such that I can back my car up and get behined the rear wheels pretty well. I've read all about it, and have the DIY on installing the Progess one, but I didn't know if I needed to get the weight off the suspension. Thanks.

ah you actually dont have to jack up the car as long as you have clearance to take out the sway bar.
infact sometimes its better to have that weight so the nut on the endlink comes off easier.
remember to use a hex key along with another wrench to get the nut out..
as for your driveway.. um.. make sure the car is still on a leveled surface and the ebrake is on firm.. and get some stops for the rear tires..
I'm assuming you're going to back it up all the way to the edge just before it starts to decline, and work there.. becareful, u dont want to have the car somehow run over you.

my driveway kina ends with a wall, so that where the driveway ends, there is a wall goin about 5 feet down into mulch. I could pull the car back to the edge, then I can STAND in the mulch and easily reach that area...or so I think. I just got the bar about a half hour ago, so we will see.

my service manual says to use new nuts on reassembly...did you do this? (directed to anyone) Also, I think I can get the left side without taking off the wheel, but the exhaust is kinda in the way, so would it be OK for me to just jack up the right side (dont have jackstands) and take off that wheel? I backed my car up to the point I thought would be good, and it's perfect. I can get to everything, except the right side because of that damn muffler.

umm.. if u dont have jackstands.. then u're just going to use a jack?
use the one that comes with the car.. thats safer.
no I didn't get new nuts... although its always good to replace them. if you have extra ones.. go ahead and do it.. if you dont, depending on the condition of the nut... you might want to get a new one..
its just a recommendation since the manual assume you're replacing sway bar cuz there's something wrong with it...

You don't need to worry about re-aligning anything... thats for a tie bar. You unbolt the lower rear suspension links and getting them lined back up is a bitch. But for the sway bar you don't need to worry. I put the bar on with the car jack standed, but then swapped the bushings for ES ones with the car on the ground. I found it to be a lot easier to wiggle the bar around with the suspension unloaded (jacked up) but it can be done without too much difficulty with the car on the ground.
