i think its just a vacume line or a breather line. im not really sure. but when i took out the old manifold it was attached on there. now there isnt any place to put it on the new manifold.

small amounts of oil travel through that line, to lube up the throttle body. if you cut that line off, by adding a breather filter, you cut off that lube, and your throttle body might seize up, then you punch the gas, and your result is a chipped, or cracked throttle plate. (this takes many miles, but it will happen) also, that hose helps to warm the engine on cold starts.
the seventh gen. civic has no pcv. the technology has moved up. (i looked everywhere, wanted to put the GP2000a on my car)

on the 7th gen there are 2 breather outlets one on the valve cover which you are talking about amd one off of the crankcase, which we are talking about. the one on the crankcase is soley there for reburning vapors in the case.

yup one on valve cover is a breather port... the one on the head is OUR PCV. and if we have no PCV.. explain where us turbo cars hook up our catch cans?
