Question Gauge Cluster Wiring

Okay, I eventually want to make an easily programmible digital display interface to replace the gauges. I'm looking into embedded systems and considering running linux and Java to do all this. However, I have no idea what the blue and green clips do that connect to the gauge cluster.

Does anyone have any in-depth info on what does what? I know the blue wire is for the tachometer, and I think the speedometer is on a white/green wire. And I've heard contradicting information if it's the cluster or ECU which keeps the odometer reading. And then there's stuff like temperature and how much gas you've got.

Are any of these readings digital like for the odometer? And analog (voltage) for the gauges?

And to make this thread easier to find, I'll spell guage wrong.

I got a 04 civic dx and doing a gauge cluster swap, but I got to rewire the whole thing cause looks to me like the wires on the 04 look alot similar to the 01-02 civics. I also know that the power comes from the green harness. And the blue ones hold most of the sensors. but i tell you what wire is which once mine works!

Hey, sounds good man. Wow, first reply and it took 8 months. Hehe. Ya, anyway I'm definitely still looking into all this. But for now I've got another project. And a lot of people have started this but it's an in-car-computer. Not quite old yet. But I think I *NEED* one.
