Do anyone know what the resonator is for? will it give better flow without it? Will the sound be different too? Just curious thanx.

intake or exhaust?
in either case. if u check the dictionary.. you'll see that resonators are: "A hollow chamber or cavity with dimensions chosen to permit internal resonant oscillation of electromagnetic or acoustical waves of specific frequencies. "
so it messes with sound, basically.
and in our case.. it reduce the intake and exhaust volume and tone.

Yee. . just makes her quiet. Dunno what it does for air flow though. . I don't think it helps much. . When I first saw the stock intake system, I was like WTF? . . Goes in through the side, back into the resignator, up through the filter and back down into the engine. . Seems like a lotta work .

Ok so if he were to remove the resonator from the stock exhaust system, it would be a lot louder right. So... for poor college kids like me, romoving the res would give me some sound until I can afford a GReddy... right or ghetto and ricey?

Please do us all a favor and keep your exhaust resonator.
It may sound "ok loud" from the inside of the car, but from the outside i bet it sounds AWFUL.
And the intake resonator....that's not too bad. Makes a really really nice DEEP sound but kills mpg.

resonator=good air flow, also quiets exhaust and adds backpressure. no resonator=poor airflow, louder but gets that "watery" sound, almost like your engine is drowning, back-firing, and you get tickets for noise-orderance (93 dcml.)

the airbox resunator is another story, i took it off a couple of weeks ago, so much more room in the engine bay, sounds soo loud, justlike an aftermarket muffler, and u feel a tiny bit of extra power at high rpm's
