RSX 5spd Shift Mechanism
Has anyone tried using the actual shifting mechanism from an RSX. Right now I have a Revo short shifter but it looks like its getting worn out, only after ~5 months of use. Has anyone tried it or even knows if it can be done?

I took apart the mechanism again to install the metal bushings and I noticed there was a pile of powder that seem to have come from the ball joint as you move side to side in neutral. Could be a defective item...but since I have the RSX shift ****, might as well go with the original RSX shifter.

ah geez. lol.
the RSX base shifter assembly is very similiar to our stock assembly. its not shorter, nor is the cable located differently... although the curve is a bit different.
I woulnd't use the Type S shifter assembly on our car.. since the curve is a lot diff... its not meant to be used on a 5spd.
it'll work, I think.. there wont be any extra gears.. that doesn't have much to do with the shifter assembly, thats not what determines what gears u can shift into.. the two cables attached to the tranny is what determines it...
I'd just get another revo/obx, or see if u can get a replacement...
dont they have any warranty? heh.
